You can do them on your own, and then just take a picture of yourself with the negative test, and a time stamp (used my home screen of my phone) and that proof was plenty good enough. I will say Hideout was definitely strict about vaccination/negative test for meals (not rude about it), but do yourself a favor if you're not vaccinated, and grab the binax tests from CVS. The parking in Waikiki can be a bit hectic, so the valet service they provided there was much appreciated. The hideout restaurant was great for morning coffee, breakfast pastries and cocktails. The pool was heated, so even on chilly days, it was fun to be out there.

They offered free shaved ice from 1pm to 2pm at the pool deck which our kids really loved. The walk to Waikiki was a short one, that we did a few times during our stay. Konos' and Marukame Udon were 2 of our favorites, that were directly across the street. There is a great mall just next door to the hotel, and lots of great places to eat that were short walks from the hotel. The kids really enjoyed having a ukulele in the room to be able to play. We upgraded to the Junior Suite, which had enough room for the 5 of us to sleep comfortably. I'll say that it definitely has that vibe, but that said our kids had a blast here and it was much more kid friendly than I thought it might be. So I won a stay at this hotel through a video contest put on by Hawaii Magazine, and the prize was for 2 people, but we of course have 3 kids that came along with us, and my biggest concern was that this hotel would not be kid friendly enough, as I kind of got a modern, young adult vibe from it before we arrived. It seems to me at that kind of rate one should assume that you were getting more than just a comfortable room to sleep. None of this might have mattered if this hotel was at a modest price but because this was a peak period our room came to almost $700 with all the taxes and fees. Not sure I would have wanted it if there were because every time I went by the pool it was filled with kids splashing around. The pool was nice but there was no bar or food service. There was not even coffee available anywhere in the hotel. At 930/10 the other mornings the wait was an hour or more. Two mornings we were downstairs before 8AM (pretty early for a vacation) and were told it would be 20-30min before we could order. we tried there was no availability for any of the 5 nights of our stay. The hotel sent an email 6 days before our arrival saying if you want dinner at our restaurant you must book ahead. We were not interested in one of the mega resorts directly on the water thought this would be a good compromise. 4 star room, 2 star service and 5 star luxury prices
